MRSC Choir Celebrate First Birthday
2 Apr 2009
A year ago, members of the MRSC got together and set up the supporters club choir. A huge commitment is involved for all the singers, including travelling to Charleville from all over Munster on a weekly basis for rehearsals. What a year it has been.
Now, with just under 50 members, the choir has grown from strength to strength.
The choirs debut performance was at the official opening of Thomond Park for the Munster v’s New Zealand game.
Since then, the choir have performed at three matches, the opening of the Supporters Club bar and several corporate events.
In January, members of the choir travelled to Swansea to support the team in their Magners League fixture against Ospreys. We were also hosted at an event by Ospreys Choir and we look forward to welcoming the choir on our return fixture in Limerick in May.
A small number of members were involved in the charity cd in aid of the Stuart Mangan appeal. It was a great opportunity for us to lend our voices to the very worthy cause and we are sure that the songs will be a great addition to any rugby and music fans collection.
With just a year under our belt, the repertoire is a mixture of pop, traditional and rugby anthems. The encouragement and support we have received from the supporters club committee and the fans at the matches has been invaluable for us and motivates us to improve and develop continuously.
We look forward to entertaining the crowd at the upcoming Leinster and Heineken Cup Quarter final games in Thomond Park and making our Musgrave Park debut at the Llanelli Scarlets match on April 24th.
